Winner of the design competition

"Draw us a coat hook that can be used to design walls." A total of 132 students from the fields of interior design, architecture, art and product design answered this call.

The aim of the competition was to interpret the coat hook as part of the wall design. To this end, it was to have a striking design and be further developed in terms of function.

The jury intensively discussed all the designs in the shortlist on the basis of the evaluation criteria.

The winner of the Iserlohn Hook Award is Robin Scholz. He is a product design student at the University of Design in Schwäbisch Gmünd with a Master's course at the Umeå Institute of Design in Sweden.

His hook, which we have christened "3/4", has a very surprisingly simple and at the same time an aesthetically clear form that decorates the wall like a creole. This wall hook, geometric in its basic form, is on the one hand original and on the other hand also natural.

The other winners:
2nd place: Lea Böttcher and Nina Schneider - "UPI03".
This multifunctional hook plays with transformation possibilities.
3rd place: Till Ihrig - "Olá".
A coat hook that uses an acoustic signal to indicate the arrival of a flatmate.
4th place: Xinyi Wang - "Autumn Leaves".
These hooks are convincing when they occupy a wall as a larger group.
5th place: Ziyuan Shao - "Bendhaken".
A hook bar with a special aesthetic appeal.
