Interior architects, designers, students and all creative minds were invited to give the inconspicuous coat hook a new shape. The open and unique competition was a hit: 125 participants submitted a total of 160 creative hook designs - a great result!

Checkroom hooks often lead a shadowy existence in interior design, complains the competition organizer, Jürgen Schwerter. The market offers little that is new and unusual.

The winner of the first Iserlohner Haken Award 2021 ("3/4", Robin Scholz) has been included in the collection; it has not yet been decided which of the five winners of the second award will be produced.

The Iserlohner Haken Award 2023 sets an example for innovation and creativity in interior design. The award-winning designs show the many ways in which this everyday object can be given new forms and functions.

With the launch of the Iserlohner Haken brand twelve years ago, Jürgen Schwerter Garderoben-Manufaktur invited eleven internationally renowned architects and designers to open up a new perspective on the hook as a furnishing item and wall object. The designers came up with surprising yet familiar, playful yet innovative results. Every single Iserlohn hook can be considered a compact architectural statement. In 2019, Hadi Teherani enriched the range with "Mr. Steed". The entire collection is manufactured in the Iserlohn wardrobe manufactory and is therefore "Made in Germany".
